Oukitel WP5 Recovery (Boot Loop)

So. I got an new phone and tried to root it straight away. I bricked it, but managed to fix it again.

I had a Oukitel WP5 Reboot Loop / Orange Status Boot Loop problem.

The 2020 Oukitel WP5, 4GB RAM, 32GB is a fairly recent phone, with the following relevant specs:

Mediatek Helio A22 MT6761 SOC
The Stock ROM has boot-protection enabled.

The later means, that you won’t be able to boot the stock ROM, after flashing a custom recovery.img, since the system integrity protection will fail. As of writing this, there are no custom ROMs for the WP5 avalible.

To unlock the phone:
– Unlock Bootloader in Developer Options
– then use command: fastboot flashing unlock

To lock the phone:
fastboot flashing lock

The Oukitel WP5 will factory-reset when entering either of these commands.

There appear to be absolutely no information, custom ROMs or stock ROMs for the WP5 available on the Internet.

However, the Oukitel C15 Pro uses the same chipset and has been around for a while. There are unofficial TWRP and Lineage Ports for that phone.

Flashing the following TWRP image fixed the boot-loop problem I had, after flashing a bad twrp-recovery.img without making a backup of the Stock recovery first.
