Calibre Comparison: 97 Cartridges at Actual Size (Free Poster)

How big is a .50 BMG next to a 9×19? And how small does a .22 LR look next to a 12/89 shell? To see it at a glance, I designed a poster with 97 cartridges and projectiles, from the diabolo pellet to the .50 BMG, free to download in A1 and A3.

What’s on it

  • Airgun, rimfire, shotgun, handgun, rifle and black powder, each group sorted by bullet diameter, then by length.
  • In the black powder section, round balls and Minié bullets are kept apart from the cartridges, including the Vetterli and the old Swiss GP 90 from 1890.
  • Each calibre shows its common alternative names (e.g. 9 mm Luger / 9 mm Para), bullet diameter and overall length.

Formats

  • A1, scale 1:1: printed without scaling (100 %), every cartridge is shown at actual size. A scale bar in the top right lets you check.
  • A3, scale 1:2: half size, fits a standard frame.

Both formats come in English and German as print-ready vector PDFs.
